Opportunities from the City of Literature Office

As part of the 10th  Anniversary of Melbourne as a City of Literature, the Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature Office and the Wheeler Centre will be holding a two day Parliament of the City of Literature in November to celebrate where we are now and discuss where we should be in ten years!

We are now looking for Expressions of Interest from people interested in presenting best practice as well as looking for people who are interested in provoking where we should be in ten years.

The Parliament of the City of Literature will be part presentation, part provocation and much discussion and all areas of our City of Literature will  be invited to attend this free event. Day one of the Parliament will be looking at the here and now of Melbourne as a City of Literature from the view point of our writers, librarians, book professionals and literature leaders. Day two will vision and challenge the future, combining new thinking with alternative viewpoints. Programming will include round table facilitated conversation, panels, presentations  and “Letters from 2030” where people present their vision for the City of Literature's future. We will also be joined by representatives from some of our sister Cities of Literature.

We are keen to hear from anyone who works across Victoria in an area that recognises itself as part of our City of Literature. Presenters and Provocateurs will be paid and travel provided for where appropriate. Any questions please do not hesitate to contact us

Go here to express your interest to present or provoke!
