The past decade has seen an alarming rise in antisemitic sentiment the world over – with violent attacks on synagogues by far-right extremists, and currents of hostility towards Jews from left-liberal circles. How do we account for this?

For this Fifth Estate conversation, presented in partnership with the Melbourne Writers Festival, Sally Warhaft will be joined by Jewish studies academic Dvir Abramovich and acclaimed historian Deborah Lipstadt.

In 1993, Lipstadt famously exposed David Irving as a Holocaust denier, leading to a sensational court case and a movie which made international news. Lipstadt and Abramovich will talk about recent expressions of antisemitism, and what can be done to counter them.

Presented in partnership with Melbourne Writers Festival and Melbourne Jewish Book Week.
