A 1-hour conversation about the impact that writers, artists, and creatives have on interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary collaborations. How does their content, processes, and ideas enrich, challenge, and affect the projects and teams they work with? Taking prompts and provocations from Near and Far, an e-book about the arts as a transversal process within interdisciplinary collaboration, author Meredith Lewis will present her research in this area and lead a conversation about how writers and other creative people or methodologies could benefit or challenge collaborative teams. How do you find a common language between people from different disciplines? How do you build trust among collaborators? What exactly can writing, art, and design bring to the collaborative process? About your facilitator: Meredith Lewis has over 30 years’ experience in the arts, university, and community sectors. As a writer, process mentor, and transformative facilitator, she helps people to understand their experience of creativity and to develop a creative process. Meredith is focused on helping people to work in ways that are humane and generative of inspiration, learning, and resilience. She is particularly interested in helping people to reclaim confidence in their creativity, harness collective imagination, and develop capabilities in co-creation, futures literacy, and interdisciplinary work.
