SUMMARY:Trip Reports by Rich Haridy
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to host the launch of Investigative journalist Rich Haridy’s Trip Reports.\n\nPsychedelics have been one of the most exciting and controversial developments in mental health treatment in recent years. Journalist Rich Haridy has been reporting on this space for years. In that time he has seen many shifts\, including Australia moving from one of the strictest to one of the most progressive nations when it comes to the ways that psychedelics can being studied in labs and in experimental trials.\n\nIn Trip Reports\, Rich Haridy does a deep dive into the experimental science and treatments happening across Australia and the world\, from the little-known history of psychedelic use in medicine in 1960s Melbourne to the latest science on the impacts of microdosing (or lack thereof) and use of MDMA in PTSD treatment.\n\nFree\, but bookings are essential.

DESCRIPTION:Veteran journalist\, broadcaster and academic Waleed Aly discusses his agenda-setting new Quarterly Essay on the forces transforming modern politics.\nAre we in the midst of the most important political shift of our time\, the end of liberalism? In his new Quarterly Essay\, On Speech\, Equality and Politics\, Waleed Aly analyses what is happening in political spheres both at home and overseas\, tracking the forces at play that have led to this moment.   \nJoin Aly as he sits down to discuss political polarisation\, the limits of liberalism and the rise of illiberal democracy. Tackling freedom of speech\, cancel culture and the new battles of identity\, he points to the cracks that have emerged and what the shift away from liberalism means for Australia today.  \nDrawing on his vast experience across journalism\, academia\, law and ethics\, Aly brings insight and perspective to this compelling conversation about the forces transforming our politics. SUMMARY:Opening Night: RETRIBUTION
DESCRIPTION:The land hums as a farmer tramples into her grasslands\, silently waiting. Something ghostly and hungered slips through the darkened hallways of a prison and snatches an unsuspecting guard. An ancient being is disturbed from his slumber by the gas drilling rig. Bile rises from the earth\, acidic and rotting\, swallowing an entire city whole. \nExperience a night of terror\, rage\, and retribution\, featuring readings from Blak writers from across the continent. Horror will be appropriated and re-imagined as Indigenous self-determination is projected back onto the settler gaze. Careful\, coloniser. Many things go missing in the night. You might just be next.
