SUMMARY:Thyme to Cook - Author Event
DESCRIPTION:Over the past few years\, one of our go-to authors for delicious\, comforting food that caters to vegetarians\, vegans\, and those avoiding gluten and dairy has been Emma Galloway. Better known through her beautiful food blog\, My Darling Lemon Thyme\, Emma is a best-selling\, New Zealand-based cookbook author\, food writer and photographer. \nEmma grew up in a vegetarian family before training and working as a chef. She has been writing about food since 2010 and has since written and photographed three best-selling cookbooks\, filled with delicious\, inventive comfort food that just happens to be vegetarian and suitable for those with dietary restrictions. \nIn October\, Emma’s newest book\, Thyme to Cook\, will be published — and it is absolutely gorgeous. \nIn Emma’s words: “This one’s a little different from my previous cookbooks — it’s not just about the recipes. It’s about the full journey of growing\, harvesting\, and cooking real food at home.” \nThe book is for anyone who cares about what they eat\, wants to feel more connected to their food\, or is beginning to explore a more self-sufficient way of living. It covers everything from growing vegetables from seed and making simple\, cost-effective soil amendments\, to saving seeds and turning kitchen and garden waste into nutrient-rich compost. \nWith in-depth growing guides for more than 25 vegetables\, Thyme to Cook gives you everything you need to get started. And\, of course\, all that homegrown abundance eventually makes its way into the kitchen\, with more than 70 nourishing\, flavour-packed vegetarian and gluten-free recipes to cook throughout the year. \nAs Emma says: “In uncertain times\, knowing how to grow and cook your own food feels more important than ever.” \nPerfectly suited to our Mediterranean-style climate and featuring many of our favourite vegetables\, Thyme to Cook is a must-have for your kitchen-garden shelf — even if you’re only a little bit in love with vegetables. \nAlthough we don’t have a kitchen garden at the shop\, we’ll be sourcing beautiful\, fresh produce from the market\, as always\, and creating several dishes from the book for you to taste. \nPlease join us as we celebrate growing\, harvesting and cooking real food at home\, and the release of Emma Galloway’s latest beautiful book\, Thyme to Cook.
