25th Scarlet Stiletto Awards Gala Dinner

Sisters in Crime

Event Date: 24 November 2018
Author / Presenters: Kate Atkinson & Jane Clifton

Join Sisters in Crime Australia to celebrate 25 years of the Scarlet Stiletto Awards. This year, 201 short stories, written by Australian women, will compete for $9,760 in prize money. The first prize winner will also take home a spectacular Scarlet Stiletto trophy. Kate Atkinson, Logie Award nominee and star of Wentworth, will discuss her ‘life in crime’ (and much more) with crime author and performer Jane Clifton.

Kate has acted in many of Australia’s favourite series, including Jack Irish, Rush, The Dr Blake Mysteries, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Blue Heelers, State Coroner and the much-loved Sea Change.

Jane Clifton – author, actress, singer and registered civil celebrant – is still most famous for her role as bank robber Margo Gaffney in Prisoner (1980–84), the show on which Wentworth is based. Jane has finished her fifth novel, which is not crime, but she promises she will be returning to a life of crime with Flash, a sequel to Flush.

In honour of the 25th Scarlet Stilettos, Cate Kennedy, winner of the first two Scarlet Stiletto Awards, will present ‘These heels are made for walking’, her insight into how the awards transformed her life. She will also launch Scarlet Stiletto: The Tenth Cut (Clan Destine Press), an e-book compilation of this year’s winning stories.

Tickets: $58 sit down dinner Doors open at 6pm. Men or ‘brothers-in-law’ welcome. Bookings are essential and close 3pm Wednesday 21 November 2018.
