An Instrument of Collaboration, ARt on the Page
University of Melbourne Special Collections
Join Caren Florence from the University of Canberra for a talk on the unfolding legacy of the graphic investigation workshop as part of a public program of events for the Art on the Page exhibition at the University of Melbourne's Noel Shaw Gallery. Art on the Page showcases the astonishing, little-known book illustration work of a number of the world’s finest artists including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Antoni Tàpies, Marc Chagall, David Hockney and Joan Miró. Their original woodcuts, lithographs, etchings, tableaux and engravings—of the type normally found on the gallery wall—accompany the work of revered writers including Vladimir Mayakovsky, James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Emily Brontë and Guillaume Apollinaire.
Caren Florence will be presenting in the Leigh Scott Room, Level 1 of the Baillieu Library at the University of Melbourne Parkville between12:00pm and 1:00pm
