Dressed in Black by Lisa MacKinney
Readings
Join us to celebrate the launch of Lisa MacKinney's Dressed in Black. Historian Lisa MacKinney marshals an impressive array of new evidence to tell the Shangri-Las' story, dispelling many myths and long-standing mysteries along the way. Dressed in Black is the first full-length history of the Shangri-Las, one of the most significant-and most misunderstood-pop groups of the 1960s. We will be joined on the night by cultural historian, Verse Chorus Press music writer and University of Melbourne Professor David Nichols and renowned Melbourne author and musician Edwina Preston. Cat Hope, Professor of Music at Monash University, will do the launching honours. Free, but bookings are essential. Please book here.
