Join us at 6pm on Wednesday 8th May for an evening of reading and conversation with Glom Press publishers Marc Pearson and Michael Hawkins alongside authors Bailey Sharp and Rachel Ang.

GLOM PRESS is a for-hire risograph press and comics publisher based in Melbourne, Australia. Glom Press aim to fill a gap in the Australian publishing industry in between minicomics and Graphic Novels and to provide opportunities for emerging and established creators to experiment and hone their craft.

Michael Hawkins is a Melbourne-dwelling comic book and visual artist of Tasmanian and U.S. derivation. He believes in mystery.

Marc Pearson is a cartoonist, former Art Editor at The Lifted Brow (issues 25-32) & founder/ former editor of cartoon advice column Advicecomics. He is currently drawing an ongoing comic series called The Flamingo Diamond & drawing comics for Orygen Youth Health.

Rachel Ang is a Melbourne-based comics artist. Her comics and illustrations have been published widely, including by The Lifted Brow, Going Down Swinging, The Stella Prize and Cordite Poetry Review. She is a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow for 2018. She is the co-editor of Comic Sans, a new serialised anthology of Australian comics with a focus on real life and fresh voices. She holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from RMIT University. This is her first book.

Bailey Sharp is a cartoonist, animator and educator interested in all forms of visual storytelling. She grew up in Georgia but now lives and works in Australia. She is the art editor at The Lifted Brow along with her partner Ben Juers. You can follow her on instagram @nobailey

The Salon Series brings together our community of writers and readers in a program of informal readings and discussions held in the intimate setting of the bookshop.

Join us at 6pm on the second Wednesday of every month.
No bookings required. Glass of wine on the house.
