We're back for another year of stellar readings and conversations. The Salon Series brings together our community of writers and readers in a program of informal readings and discussions, right here in the intimate setting of the bookshop. Join us at 6pm on the second Wednesday of every month. No bookings required, wine on the house.
First up is Kate Cole-Adams on Wednesday 11 April at 6pm.
Join us for a glass of wine and to hear award-winning author and Stella Prize longlistee, Kate Cole-Adams, in conversation with historian Helen MacDonald.
Kate Cole-Adams is a Melbourne-based writer and journalist. Her new book, Anaesthesia, won the Mark and Evette Moran Nib Literary Award and was shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award (non-fiction category) and longlisted for the Stella Prize. It is a personal, journalistic and philosophical exploration of what happens when we go under. Her 2008 novel, Walking to the Moon, was short-listed in the 2006 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards (Unpublished Manuscript). She is fascinated by unconscious processes and other things she can’t understand. She writes very slowly.
Helen MacDonald is an award-winning historian and the author of Human Remains and Possessing the Dead: The Artful Science of Anatomy. Helen is currently writing a history of ‘spare part’ surgery. She tweets at @helen8macdonald.
