All Star Women's Comic Book Club Final Meet Up
All Star Comics
Our FINAL MEET UP is this month. After over 5 years of meet ups it's time to say goodbye.
Come along to celebrate with us with good chats and book of the month Blackbird tp.
What you can look forward to in the JANUARY meet up:
COMIC BOOK SHOW AND TELL:
Bring along a comic/comics you have been enjoying lately to share with other members. Together with a club leader you will be able to sit in chat in a group with other active readers to hear book recommendations and maybe make a new friend who enjoys the same comics as you.
BOOK DISCUSSION:
One of our favourite parts of the monthly meet up is discussing our book of the month. One of our ASWCC team members will run a discussion with those who like to dive deep into the pages. Whether you loved it, hated it, or aren't sure how you felt, this is your chance to get into it.
If you didn't get a chance to read the book, you're welcome to sit in and listen: you might be interested in reading it when you do have the time. The discussion leader will never call upon particular people for answers, unless you to feel comfortable to talk.
The book discussion is run on the front couch and lasts for around 45mins but often runs for the whole meeting. Feel free to pop in or out as you like
COMIC BOOK SWAP:
Bring along a trade paper back or hard cover you no longer want. It will be placed on big table. Names will be picked out randomly and one by one you can go and choose the comic of your choice from the table to keep.
Rules of the swap:
-Hardcover or soft cover graphic novels, trade paperbacks or manga
-One book per person per meet up
-Books must be volume 1 or a stand alone graphic novel. No random volume numbers sorry.
-Books must be in good condition. Just remember you are swapping this with one of your many friends in the club.
This is a FREE aspect of the meeting.
