What is poetry to you, and why do you wish to express yourself in this form? And what is form, how do you harness it, and how do you subvert it? This workshop, which can be taken independently or as an introduction to the Online Poetry Clinic, will focus on the importance of reading poetry before it begins. Our close readings and textual analysis will create new possibilities for your poetry and allow you to reflect on the form of poetry and your accountability as a poet when generating, drafting and rewriting poetry. This season, Writers Victoria’s Online Feedback Clinics have been reimagined, making them more flexible for participants. For the full experience, you can sign up for a workshop to get started and meet your tutor before you submit work for feedback from the tutor and your peers across a three-month period via our online forum. If you’d prefer to just dip a toe into the clinics, you can sign up for a one-day workshop; if you’re more confident in your drafting skills, you can opt, instead, to focus solely on the feedback rounds.
