Conquering Fear as a Writer
Writers Victoria
Join Koraly Dimitriadis for a workshop that will inspire participants to push boundaries, shed inhibitions and get to the heart of expression. This workshop won't be prescriptive or suggest that there is a "correct" way to write, but will provide techniques for writers who want to build confidence and support participants as they develop courage. This intimate workshop will encourage participants to be fully open to the experience of their truth and provide opportunities to practice sharing writing and/or performance.
You can find details of how Covid-19 restrictions will affect the workshop here: https://writersvictoria.org.au/about-us/covid-19-information/. You are encouraged to wear a mask in the workshop space. The Wheeler Centre’s policy is that close contacts should not attend the building. If you are a close contact of somebody with Covid-19, or have Covid-19 symptoms yourself, please do not attend[email protected] to arrange a refund in this situation.
You Will Learn:
- to identify what’s holding you back and overcome hurdles to access your true voice
- why we care so much about what people think and how that affects our writing
- how to identify the best medium/s for what it is you are trying to express, and how to carry writing across mediums to convey different meaning
- to workshop with other writers in a constructive/encouraging way
- how to get your writing out there, especially when it it’s controversial / unconventional
