This seminar will consider the ethics of representation in writing. What power dynamics should be considered when writing characters from cultural backgrounds other than your own? How do you write intersectionality? These and other important considerations will be explored.

This masterclass is for established writers only: that is, writers who have had at least one book or short story collection published by a mainstream publisher or a significant publication history in literary journals or similar publication.

About the Tutor:

Jeanine Leane belongs to the Wiradjuri peoples of the Murrumbidgee River. She is a poet, writer and teacher who currently has the privilege of living and working on the lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of Naarm.
