A well-built and maintained author website can do wonders for promoting your writing, connecting you with readers and providing up-to-date news and information for peers, readers, and the publishing industry. But you’re a writer, not a web developer – where do you start? Our marketing and communications manager, Sarah Hollingsworth, will step you through everything you need to know.
This seminar will take place online. Detailed instructions for participation will be provided.You Will Learn:

  • The importance of a clear, concise and well-maintained author website
  • What you should and shouldn’t include on your author website
  • What domains and hosting are and how they work
  • Options for free and paid services we recommend using
  • How to set up your site from start to finish!


About the Tutor:

Sarah Hollingsworth studied a Graduate Diploma in Editing and Communications, which led to her working for eight years in publishing, holding various publicity and marketing roles at publishing houses in Melbourne. In 2020 Sarah joined the Writers Victoria team as the marketing and communications manager. She enjoys being able to share her publishing industry experience and knowledge with the Writers Victoria community, and helping aspiring writers navigate the world of writing and publishing.
