In this seminar, you’ll focus on Interview with the Vampire, examining the craft of the vampire in book and film, but take inspiration from a range of vampires. You’ll consider characterisation through vampires, which have evolved both physically and psychologically and in dialogue with a range of theories, moving from Dracula to Twilight and beyond. You Will Learn: key vampire films inspired by books, from Dracula to Twilight the physical evolution of the vampire on screen the psychological evolution of the vampire on screen how theory explains some of these vampires, e.g. Postcolonialism, Marxism contemporary depictions of the vampire, beyond the page and screen
