Writing Climate Fiction

Writers Victoria

Event Date: 21 October 2023 10:00 AM
Author / Presenters: [email protected]

Attempting to write strong climate fiction invites all kinds of possibilities. Climate fiction can involve drawing together real-world observation with speculative leaps of imagination. It can utilise literary and / or genre writing techniques for utopian or apocalyptic outcomes. It can be set in our known world, or in invented lands; in the present, past or future; involve human and / or nonhuman characters; and take up a range of forms from the traditional to the experimental. Join award winning ‘cli-fi’ writer Alice Robinson for this one-day hands-on exploration of writing the climate.
