Writing Fandom

Writers Victoria

Event Date: 28 October 2023 10:00 AM
Author / Presenters: [email protected]

When we love something or someone, we often want to write about them. But how do we do this in a way that works for the reader? In this workshop, we’ll explore the ways in which fandom can be generative, opening up new approaches to writing, and examine strategies for writing when the depth of our obsession risks overpowering our prose.

This workshop will take place online via the Writers Victoria Zoom room. Detailed instructions for participation will be provided.

You Will Learn:

  • Different ways enthusiasm can fuel your writing
  • Strategies for writing about things you love
  • How much information to include and exclude when you know a subject well
  • A range of approaches to writing about your obsessions
  • To develop confidence in your own enthusiasm
