2022 Program Launch

Queenscliffe Literary Festival

Event Date: 29 March 2022
Author / Presenters: John Faine

With our Festival returning in May with a huge range of live events, we are pleased to announce the details of our 2022 Program Launch, on Tuesday 29 March with special guest Jon Faine, and a celebratory drink supplied by Provenance Wines.

It's an evening of firsts; not only will you be one of the first people to hear from Jon Faine about his brand new book, Apollo & Thelma, you will also be among the first to see the freshly minted QLF 2022 Program of events taking place over the last three weekends of May.
Please join us for complimentary pre-event drinks from 5pm on the lawn beside the Town Hall, before the main event begins at 6pm where Jon Faine will share the astonishing true story of legendary strongman Paul Anderson ‘The Mighty Apollo’ and his sister Thelma, the pioneering publican of the ‘Wanda Inn’ at Top Springs in the Northern Territory. Their twisting tales move from Depression-era slums of Melbourne to the Australian outback. Via the improbable route of these two originals, Jon reckons with his own story, his own history and Australia's past, present, and future.  Jon will be in conversation with Melbourne writer, Robyn Annear.
