Beta Fest: Theatre in Various States of Undress
Lonely Company
Melbourne’s most exciting playwrights bare-all for reimagined play reading festival…
Beta Fest: Theatre In Various States of Undress, is a bold reinvention of play reading festivals as we know them, celebrating the creative process of new Australian theatre.
Scenes, excerpts and early drafts by Melbourne’s most daring writers will be presented in two concurrent streams – directed by Marcel Dorney and Beng Oh – culminating each night in an outdoor summer hub with music, food, drink and conversation at Siteworks in Brunswick.
Beta Fest exposes the often-isolated journey of new writing, presenting glimpses of raw ideas before they are smoothed out over years of development and dramaturgy.
Featuring new writing by Tom Holloway, Rachel Perks, Zoey Dawson, Katy Warner, Emma Hall, Fleur Kilpatrick, Jessica Bellamy, Chris Bryant, Emina Ashman, Tom Middleditch, Kerith Manderson Galvin, Yuki Iwama, Eric Gardiner and more!
Directed by Marcel Dorney and Beng Oh
