First Nations Men

Bendigo Writers Festival

Event Date: 14 May 2022
Author / Presenters: Thomas Mayor, Robin Pearson

Masculinity, culture and racism: the spotlight has well and truly been on how these are linked, but very few contributions to our knowledge have come from First Nations peoples. Activist and writer Thomas Mayor saw it was time to shatter the derogatory stereotypes and go to fathers and sons to celebrate First Nations men. He talks with Robin Pearson about the reflections gathered in his Dear Son anthology, how he reached out to the writers and what the responses reveal.

Tickets $10 or multi-buy.
