The Great Unknown
Bendigo Writers Festival
We rely on writers of history to sift through evidence from the past, and help us make sense of it all – so we can learn not to repeat mistakes. Right now, however, change to the very fundamentals of what it means to be human is happening at a speed that makes it impossible to keep up. Is ethical thinking playing catch-up with technological change? Paul Barclay talks to anthropologist Eben Kirksey and AI researcher Toby Walsh about what questions need to be asked about health and human rights. Because something is possible, is it inevitable? Is the research and development driven by creative desires to explode boundaries, or is it all about money and power?
Tickets $20 full / $16 concession or multi-buy.
