Bloomsday in Melbourne
The Bloomsday Festival proudly notches up 25 years in 2018 as one of the premier Bloomsdays worldwide. It celebrates James Joyce's 'Ulysses' with a new theatrical adaptation of Oxen of the Sun, Joyce's hilarious foray into the world of fertility and obstetrics and his joyful parodic romp through centuries of English Literature. In addition to the play, the Festival comprises a Seminar on Joyce, Obstetrics and Parody, with paper givers Dr James King and poet Philip Harvey, and Prof. Barry Jones AO will be in the Chair.
The annual Bloomsday Lunch will occur at the Imperial Hotel (an easy walk from the theatre).
