Crime fiction is frequently based on chilling real-life events. The brutal Elwood murder of Mary (Molly) Winifred Dean in 1930 has gathered a lingering sense of intrigue and has prompted four books and a play to date.

Join Katherine Kovacic, author of "The Portrait of Molly Dean", in a discussion of the crime and its retellings. Examine the life and death of an outsider on the fringes of Melbourne's Bohemian elite and share your thoughts on this haunting 89-year-old case.
