The Library of the Royal United Services Institute of Victoria (founded 1890) has a military collection recognised as one of national significance. It has a remarkable collection of sheet music relating to war. This talk will be illustrated by many examples of this music, looking at its popular, patriotic and propaganda values. There will be a live performance of some of the songs. The collection will also be available for viewing.
