Castlemaine Festival

Unknowable is a poetry reading by Castlemaine-based poets Janet Galbraith and Ahmad, both collaborators with the immigration detention writing group Writing Through Fences.
Unknowable explores how the differences between people from diverse cultures, countries, genders, languages and life experiences, divide and defy understanding. Between those seeking asylum in this country and those who reside here without threat of deportation, touch is tentative and misunderstandings are common.
Unknowable attempts to bridge some of these gaps to be an intimate exchange, and a sharing of food and stories within the refuge of the Castlemaine Library.
