Words in Winter

Words in Winter is a literary and arts festival held in August in the Hepburn Shire and surrounding districts. The annual festival is a celebration of words, stories and ideas in all their forms shared by locals and visiting presenters through readings, poetry, theatre, music, talks, workshops, author talks, and exhibitions. There’s excitement bubbling here at Words in Winter HQ. We have festival dates, expressions of interest are open and we have a theme for this year’s festival. We’re thrilled to announce the dates for the 2025 Words in Winter: 22 – 24 August. This winter weekend will be one of the books! Our theme for this year is ‘Light in the Dark’, so crack out your matches and light a candle for inspiration. If you’re an artist or writer, local talent to the Hepburn Shire region or a visiting author, we’d love to hear from you. Expressions of Interest are open from 4 April- 9 May.
