Bruce Pascoe: Dark Emu

Hobsons Bay Libraries

Event Date: 30 May 2016
Author / Presenters: Bruce Pascoe

Join Indigenous author Bruce Pascoe for a compelling Reconciliation Week event.

This talk, based on Bruce's award winning book Dark Emu: black seeds, agriculture or accident? uncovers evidence from the diaries of early explorers that suggests that systems of food production and land management have been blatantly understated in modern retellings of early Aboriginal history, and that a new look at Australia’s past is required.

Bruce writes about the past to suggest solutions for the future.

Dark emu was shortlisted for the 2014 Victorian Premier's Award for Indigenous Writing.
