Author talk: Astrid Edwards Growing Up Disabled in Australia
Whitehorse Manningham Libraries
One in five Australians has a disability. And disability presents itself in many ways. Yet disabled people are still underrepresented in the media and in literature. This year on the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), writer, teacher, podcaster and MS Australia advocate Astrid Edwards will join us online to talk about her chapter in the highly acclaimed book: “Growing Up Disabled in Australia”. Astrid is one half of Bad Producer Productions, a podcast company with eleven successful (and six awarded) podcasts to date.A bibliophile, she is also the host of Anonymous Was A Woman and The Garret: Writers on Writing
She blogs about chronic disease and living with MS under the pseudonym LadywithMS. Telling stories – and saying what needs to be said – is her goal.
A Zoom invite will be emailed to registered participants prior to the session. If you have not received the link at least one hour before the scheduled start please phone any branch during opening hours.
