Bachar Houli in conversation with Paul Bateman
BrimbankLibraries
Join us for a captivating evening with all-Australian AFL champion and three-time premiership player Bachar Houli.
Famously known as the first devout Muslim to play the game at the highest level, Bachar has backed up his on-field performance with his inspiring international award-winning leadership and community work to promote social cohesion, understanding, tolerance and inclusion. His book, co-authored with acclaimed broadcaster and writer Waleed Aly, Bachar Houli: Faith, Football and Family, tells the unique story of one of football’s most fascinating men.
Bachar speaks about his life so far with writer, freelance journalist and former segment producer on ABC radio, Paul Bateman. Paul’s writing has been published in a variety of newspapers, magazines, websites and specialist publications – including The Age and the ABC.
