Stonnington Libraries
The Miles Franklin Literary Award is Australia’s most prestigious literature prize. Together with Melbourne broadcaster Sally Warhaft, current award winner A.S. Patric (Black Rock, White City) and Peggy Frew (Hope Farm) – whose novel was also nominated to win the coveted prize, discuss the question: what is life like for a writer before and after the Miles Franklin Award and do book awards guarantee commercial success?
Sally Warhaft is a regular host and commentator on ABC radio and the Wheeler Centre’s The Fifth Estate series. She is the author of Well May We Say: The Speeches that Made Australia and former editor of The Monthly magazine.
