Demet Divaroren is the author of ‘Living on Hope Street’, which won the 2018 Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards Prize for Writing for Young Adults and was shortlisted for a 2018 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. She is the co-editor of ‘Growing Up Muslim in Australia’ which was shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council’s Book of the Year awards. Her writing has appeared in Griffith REVIEW, New Australian Stories, Island magazine, The Age Epicure, The Big Issue, From the Outer and Best Summer Stories. Demet teaches creative writing at Victoria Polytechnic.

Nyadol Nyuon is a lawyer, community advocate and writer. Nyadol grew up in a Kenyan refugee camp and moved to Australia, aged eighteen, as a refugee. Nyadol has since completed a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne and is a vocal advocate for human rights, multiculturalism, the settlement of refugees and those seeking asylum, with recent appearances on ABC’s The Drum and Q&A. In 2011 and 2014, Nyadol was nominated as one of the hundred most influential African Australians. In 2016, she was the recipient of the Future Justice Prize. In 2018 her efforts to combat racism were widely recognised, with achievements including the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Racism. It Stops With Me Award.

Alice Pung is an award-winning writer, editor, teacher and lawyer based in Melbourne. She is the bestselling author of ‘Unpolished Gem’ (which won the 2012 Western Australia Premier’s Literary Awards) and ‘Her Father’s Daughter’ (which won the 2007 Australian Book Industry Newcomer of the Year Award) and the editor of the anthologies ‘Growing Up Asian in Australia’ and ‘My First Lesson’. Her first novel, ‘Laurinda’, won the Ethel Turner Prize at the 2016 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. Alice’s writing has appeared in the Monthly, the Age, and The Best Australian Stories and The Best Australian Essays.
