Jacinta Parsons is a broadcaster, radio maker, writer and public speaker who currently hosts ABC Weekday Afternoons, bringing listeners a mix of arts, culture and ideas. She began her radio-life at community radio station 3RRR over a decade ago, where she coordinated live music broadcasts and hosted several shows including Detour and Breakfasters. She made the move to the ABC in 2015, working with the Double J team and as Music Director for Local Radio. As well as presenting The New Music Show on ABC Radio, she has produced and presented a number of national broadcast events. Jacinta is an ambassador for the Crohn’s and Colitis Association and speaks and writes about the impact of living with chronic illness. She has also been an active member of the arts and music community and is a board member for Melbourne disability theatre company, Rollercoaster. Join us as Jacinta shares the books that made and shaped her and which ones she would take with her if stranded on a desert island.
