When children see characters and situations familiar to them, a sense of affirmation can occur. However, when children do not see authentic or accurate representations of familiar situations or characters, they can be left with a sense of exclusion. Adam, H., Barratt-Pugh, (2020).
This masterclass will engage with the school library role in creating and maintaining diverse, relevant, and equitable collections to support curriculum and to foster pleasure reading.
