Alec Patric is the 2016 winner of Australia’s most prestigious literary honour, the Miles Franklin. He will talk about this prize winning book, Black Rock, White City. Set in the 1990s it follows the life of a couple who escape war-torn Yugoslavia to live in Melbourne. The Miles Franklin judges praised the book for its “powerful and raw’’ narrative which “envelops the reader in one of the great issues of our time”.
