Painting in tongues- poetry slam
Boroondara Library Service
Join us for a night of colourful language at Hawthorn’s House of Letters (aka Hawthorn Library), featuring Jess Knight, Glenn Ewing and Lara Mitchell.
This space will be christened with words by these three established poets before being opened up to the floor. You’ll have three minutes to fill the stage—the blank canvas—with whatever you feel like. No theme, no safety net, just you and the microphone.
Lara Mitchell- Lara has been a raconteur of stories since birth. She spins poetry from her heart. She has shared her poems to many an audience and delights in bringing joy to them through her words.
Glenn Ewing- Glenn is a published poet and a popular slammer around town. He's known for both his colourful shirts and his wry and original observations of the world around him.
Jess Knight- Jess is a poet, writer and zine maker. Jess has recently been published on the Meanjin blog and has participated in many writerly events and panels that discuss the importance of intersectional feminism and diversity in the arts and literary scene.
