Each year the Eastern Curlew flies from Australia to Siberia and back via Korea and China, amassing a lifetime journey equivalent of that from the Earth to the moon.
Poet and award-winning nature writer Harry Saddler followed the endangered Eastern Curlew along some of its migratory path and has written a moving book about this beautiful bird, its perilous journey and the encounters it makes along the way.
