Untitled: Guide to writing your novel, memoir or biography
Stonnington Libraries
This seminar by bestselling author Graeme Simsion will cover the end-to-end process of writing, from premise to proofreading, as described in Graeme’s book The Novel Project: A step-by-step guide to writing your novel, memoir or biography.
Participants will learn:
- How to plan the writing process, so they start every day knowing what to do it and how to do it, with confidence that they’re making progress towards a completed manuscript.
- How to take control of their creativity.
- How to create credible, complex characters.
- How to structure their novel using proven storytelling principles.
- How to deal with crises and problems, including writer’s block.
- How to work with beta readers and editors.
Please note: this session will be delivered in a lecture-style setup, so participants will not have desks, and no writing exercises will be undertaken or workshopped on the day. Questions and discussion will, however, be encouraged.
Each participant will receive a copy of Graeme Simsion's The Novel Project on the day (a copy of the book is included in the ticket price).
Bookings required.
Presented as part of the 2022 Stonnington Literary Festival, [untitled]: our writers, readers and stories.
