Untitled: The abuse in our homes

Stonnington Libraries

Event Date: 19 November 2022
Author / Presenters: Nicole Lee, Tasneem Chopra OAM and Bri Lee

Women are nearly three times more likely than men to experience violence by a current or former partner, and one woman is killed nearly every week in Australia due to family violence.

In the lead up to the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Nicole Lee, family violence survivor and public advocate for the prevention of family violence, together with cross-cultural consultant Tasneem Chopra OAM and writer Bri Lee, discuss gender based and domestic violence, and how far we’ve come and how far we’ve got to go to confront the crisis of abuse in our homes.

Content warning: This event has potentially triggering content or themes, including sexual abuse, domestic violence and violence against women. It is recommended for mature audiences.

Bookings required.

Presented as part of the 2022 Stonnington Literary Festival, [untitled]: our writers, readers and stories.
