Untitled: Writing trans lives

Stonnington Libraries

Event Date: 20 November 2022
Author / Presenters: Jess Walton, Quinn Eades and Nevo Zisin

While there has been unprecedented trans visibility in Australia in the last decade, this visibility has not always been positive, shadowed by transphobic misinformation and extremist rhetoric.

Quinn Eades and Nevo Zisin write about their bodies and lived experiences, sharing their stories into the mainstream and in the process giving readers insight into the challenges and joys of trans experience.

Jessica Walton wrote Introducing Teddy: A Gentle Story About Gender and Friendship to help explain gender identity in a simple, positive way to their kids.

Jessica, Quinn and Nevo discuss their life writing and stories, the rich diversity of gender diverse and trans experiences, and what was easy and difficult about introducing their stories into the mainstream.

Bookings required.

Presented as part of the 2022 Stonnington Literary Festival, [untitled]: our writers, readers and stories.
