Workshop: Embracing Songwriting with Hands-On Techniques with Claudia Collins, Mike Whittle & Mathilda Garrido Lucay
10.30am to 1.30pm (with breaks)
Queenscliff Library – 55 Hesse St, Queenscliff
In this song writing workshop we will be covering the methods of melody making, rhythm, dynamics, and expression and participants will be invited to contribute to writing meaningful lyrics. Those with some experience will have the opportunity to develop their skills further with whatever help the tutors can provide on their own songs. Each of the tutors is a songwriter in their own right. If the participant plays an acoustic instrument (including hand drums) and feels comfortable playing in a group situation we encourage them to bring it along. Everyone will need pen and paper and if they want to record their efforts, a smart phone will be useful.
This session is designed for anyone interested in song writing, from beginners to those with some experience, aged 18+.
Tickets - $30/ $20 for GRLC Members/ $10 Concession
