A banquet dinner with readings from Iranian writers in prison

Join us to support PEN's work to support writers in prison for the crime of speaking the truth . . . with readings from imprisoned Iranian writers – read by exiled Iranian writers.

Writer, poet,and film-maker, Baktash Abtim (pictured above) writes: 'In a country like Iran, death is very cheap for intellectuals, freedom loving people and those who fight for freedom of expression . . . we expect all our friends, writers, intellectuals and those who fight for freedom of expression around the world to support us.'

Baktash Abtim died of COVID-19 while a prisoner in Evin Prison.
