State Library Victoria

Event Date: 27 April 2022
Author / Presenters: State Library Victoria and Future Crunch

We’ve partnered with science and technology storytellers Future Crunch on our new interactive lecture series designed to spark conversation.

The second in our series, ‘biotechnology,’ explores the role medicine will play in the future as it becomes increasingly personalised. Harnessing our individual genetic traits and using them to create customised medical solutions tailored to enhance our intellectual and physical capabilities.

Hosted by Rwandan-British composer and storyteller Stéphanie Kabanyana Kanyandekwe, Future Crunch will begin the night with a provocative lecture on the transformation of our relationship with medicine. They will then be joined on stage by Molecular Biologist, Upulie Divisekera and Medical Researcher, John Nguyen to discuss and debate the topics raised.

Then it is over to you to continue the conversation at your table as you break down the discussion and examine the impact the future of medicine will have on your own life.

Light refreshments will be available to purchase on the night.
