Synthetic Heat Winter Reading Series #2

Synthetic Heat

Event Date: 24 July 2018
Author / Presenters: Synthetic Heat

Synthetic Heat Winter Reading Series is an evening of performed poetry, prose, and graphic storytelling. The second instalment brings together the following writers and artists: Elena Gomez, Becky Harkins-Cross, Emma Marie Jones, Paul Dalla Rosa, June Jones, Stephanie Van Schilt, Saaro Umar, Eloise Grills & Heather Joan Day.

Synthetic Heat #2 is on Tuesday July 24, 6-8pm at The Alderman (134 Lygon St, East Brunswick).

The series centres on nonfiction--writing that is tied closely and referentially to the flesh-world our limbs are entangled in. Or, as Maggie Nelson’s describes it: ‘interesting prose that bears witness to fact, life, and the problematics of having a body in spacetime.’

Entry is free, with an optional $5 donation at the door, with all proceeds going to The Indigenous Literary Fund.

Synthetic Heat is co-curated by Eloise Grills and Ellena Savage.
