Sowing Seeds

Gasworks Arts Park

Event Date: 2 February 2022 to 12 February 2022
Author / Presenters: Gasworks Arts Park

“There’s always something that can grow, despite the cold …”

Watch the Grass Grow is a new piece of verbatim theatre, born out of the diverse stories, characters, and cultures found within a Melbourne community garden. Performed in an immersive and site-specific way, it invites the audience to share in the gardeners’ rituals, such as harvesting basil for the pesto-making contest in the summer, and planting seeds in the spring. Watch the Grass Grow is about the importance of community, and the ramifications for the individual when that community is split apart.
