How to Avoid the Slush Pile and get an Agent

Nottingham is a City of Literature

Event Date: 6 August 2020

Time zone in Nottingham, UK (GMT+1)

Are you a writer? Have you finished or are you about to finish that first, second, third manuscript? Are you confused by the conflicting information about how you get an agent, and ultimately make sure your manuscript gets into the right publisher's hands?

Then look no further.

We're incredibly excited to welcome established author, Roz Watkins for a 2-hour long session at NWS this April. At Roz's session, How to Avoid the Slush Pile and get an Agent, you'll learn how to find an agent, how you tell the good advice from the bad, and how to present your work in the best possible way to get you noticed!

Roz will make sure that you leave with a sound knowledge of how to present your work to literary agents in a way which stands you the best chance of getting representation.

She'll be drawing on her experience as the author of the DI Meg Dalton crime series which is set in the Peak District where she lives. The first book in the series, 'The Devil's Dice' was shortlisted for the Debut Dagger award, was The Times crime book of the month, and was optioned for TV.
