Ready to Submit my book

Faber Writing Academy

Event Date: 16 September 2017
Author / Presenters: Jacinta di Mase

Once you've finished polishing your manuscript, the next step is to submit it to agents and publishers. But it's hard for any writer to know if their work is really ready for that step – an opinion from an expert is invaluable. In this consultation, you'll be given feedback on your work and whether or not it's ready to submit. You'll also have the chance to discuss where your work fits into the current marketplace and be able to talk about what your next steps should be.

Your booking includes:
• 25 minutes of one-to- one time with agent Jacinta di Mase of Jacinta di Mase Management.
• Refreshment on arrival

There are strictly 7 appointment times available on the day between 12.30pm and 4pm (last appointment at 3.30pm). Book soon to avoid disappointment.

About the Agent
Jacinta di Mase started her own literary agency in 2004 after more than 20 years experience in the book industry. The agency represents writers and illustrators across a diverse range of genre including picture books, young adult fiction, and fiction and non-fiction titles for the adult trade market. Jacinta is the current President of the Australian Literary Agents' Association (ALAA).

Please note in the event of unforeseen circumstances, courses - including tutors and venues - may be subject to cancellation or change.

How to Apply
Once you have secured a booking, applicants have until Saturday 2 September to submit: a brief synopsis (no more than a page) along with genre, intended readership and examples of competing and complementary titles. This should be sent in with twenty pages or two chapters of your manuscript (whichever is the shorter). Please submit material as a .doc file, Times New Roman font, 12pt and minimum 1.5pt line spacing.

Please note Jacinta's expertise is in the areas of quality commercial fiction, non-fiction (including history, politics, current affairs etc.), picture books for children and junior fiction for younger readers. She is not able to offer feedback on poetry, short stories, self-help, or horror. For more information about books on the Jacinta di Mase Management list visit the website.
