The Allusionist: Your Name Here, live in Melbourne
minnowprojects
The Allusionist is a podcast about language. Since making its debut in 2015, Zaltzman has published more than 150 episodes.
This July, Helen Zaltzman and house band Martin Austwick are returning to Naarm/Melbourne to perform a new show called Your Name Here. It’s all about eponyms, full of facts and fun, and with some probably regrettable musical numbers. And there’s a special Allusionist pencil included with every ticket.
As Miranda Sawyer says in the Guardian, 'Yes, you learn things from this podcast, but more importantly, you do so in a delightful, human way. Zaltzman’s interviewing is great, her voice gorgeous, but it’s her editing that makes this show. Not a second is wasted.'
See The Allusionist's latest live show at Howler – a short walk from Sydney Rd trams and Jewell Station in Brunswick. There’ll be two performances, one on 14 and one on 15 July. Tickets are on sale now through Moshtix. The venue is 18+ only; sorry kids. Do us all a favour and wear a mask if you are able to, to keep that covid out of everyone’s pipes.
