The Attachment: Lunch with Ailsa Piper & Tony Doherty
Write Around the Murray
The Attachment is a collection of letters documenting a most unlikely friendship. The correspondence speaks of loves, losses, and of two lives lived with curiosity and appetite. What began with an admiring email from a reader to a writer went on to become a vital relationship for both writer and performer Ailsa Piper, and priest Tony Doherty.
Described as "the love-child of 84 Charing Cross Road and Tuesdays With Morrie,” The Attachment is by turns tender, thought-provoking, tragic and funny. One reader called it 'a demonstration of how to conduct a conversation and a friendship.’
Keeping their conversation alive over a special literary lunch as part of Write Around the Murray festival in Albury, Ailsa and Tony will challenge, tease and encourage each other, and their audience, to wrestle with life’s big - and most delicate - questions.
Atura Albury, Friday 7 September 12pm – 2.30pm, $40 including 2 courses + glass of wine
