The Garret Podcast

Event Date: 17 November 2016 to 31 January 2017
Author / Presenters: Nicholas Brasch and Andrew Rule

Andrew Rule has a long history in journalism and crime writing in Australia. He has worked on three metropolitan newspapers, and also in radio and television production. He is perhaps best-known for co-authoring the Underbelly true crime series and the Chopper series. He also hosts a regular fortnightly spot on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast called In The Rule World. He is currently Deputy Editor of The Herald Sun. As a senior writer for The Age and The Sunday Age, Andrew won a Gold Walkley, the Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of The Year Award (twice) and the Melbourne Press Club's Gold Quill Award (also twice).

Listen to Andrew discuss his writing career at https://thegarretpodcast.com/andrew-rule.

Season 1 features eight Victorian-based writers talking about their craft. These writers represent many genres. The common thread is success: these writers are the top of their fields.

Season Two will feature leading writers from across Australia, and Season Three will include international writers. The Garret was born in Melbourne, a UNESCO City of Literature. And it is supported by our community. We are proud to partner with the State Library of Victoria, Readings, Writers Victoria and Swinburne University.
